Go Green!

Hiram Chodosh

At the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, we're in the midst of a green revolution.

In a time when protecting the environment is on everyone's mind, the College of Law is fully committed to reducing its paper output. Technology, in the form of PDFs, high-speed Internet, document-management systems, Podcasting, and video conferencing is making our efforts possible. But we need you to help by subscribing to receive our communications electronically.

By cutting back on our production of paper documents, we're dramatically reducing our carbon footprint in the form of less ink used, reduced printing, mailing and shipping, more modest document storage requirements, and lower electricity usage. Reducing our paper output will also result in fewer trees being cut to produce the reams of paper necessary for printed documents, and consequently less waste paper going to landfills.

There are also advantages for you as a subscriber. Besides the obvious space-savings and ease of access (no more plowing through stacks of scattered papers in search of that elusive copy of Res Gestae!), there is also the increased efficiency of being able to search from your computer desktop for the latest update from the College of Law. Plus, you can archive all of your important documents on a CD, thumb drive, or in an Internet-based document vault, which means you'll no longer need to maintain that archived drawer full of Stegner Center newsletters or other College of Law documents. In addition, you can proudly proclaim that you're helping to protect the environment — and that's something we all believe in.

In sum, I urge you to click on the box to the right. Enrolling in the Green Quinney program is fast, simple, and secure. Rest assured that the College of Law will never share your name, contact information, or other data with any outside vendor or organization. Simply fill out a few simple fields, select the College of Law publications and notifications you'd like to receive electronically and then click "Send."  You'll receive an email notification confirming your enrollment in the Green Quinney program.

With your help, we can reduce our impact on the environment while sharing the exciting developments at the College of Law with far more efficiency than ever before. Please sign up today.

Thank you for your support,
